ABOUT US
Bierfabrik Höhn was founded in 2019 by Mathias Höhn. After many years as a home brewer, countless hours of contemplation, and an IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) course, he fulfilled his dream of owning his own brewery.
From humble beginnings, brewing in his home cellar and selling bottles at the weekly market, Mathias now brews thousands of litres of beer annually in a specially equipped brewery in the heart of Herzogenaurach.
HAND-BREWED WITH THE BEST REGIONAL INGREDIENTS
Our beer is brewed exclusively with fresh, untreated water from Herzogenaurach. We source our malt from the world-renowned Weyermann Malt House in nearby Bamberg, and our hops come from Yakima Chiefs Europe and the Eckert Organic Farm in Eckental. We buy our yeast exclusively from Fermentis.
OUR BEERS
Hand-brewed from the best regional ingredients, we have developed and tested more than 20 beer varieties over the years. These include favorites like "Kerwa Hell" or "Rotfuchs" - but also specialty beers like our sour beer "Herzi Funky" and unique experiments like our "La Johnny", brewed with Mathias Schwager (and very tasty!).
From time to time, we also offer bottles that can be purchased directly at the brewery. Come by on Thursdays from 6:00 PM, and we'll exchange your empty bottles for full ones (if available).

Belga Queen - Strong and malty - 6.5%
Hoppy Maxx - American Pale Ale with lots of hops - 4.9%
BREWERY EVENTS
You can find us all year round at the regularly held town festivals in Herzogenaurach, including the Altstadtfest, Sommerkirchweih, Hin + Herzo (every two years), and the Martini Kirchweih. Just look out for our famous fire truck and join us for a delicious drink.
You can enjoy our beer with food at our partner restaurants Casa Negri and Tannebaums in Herzogenaurach.
